Susan Baron, PsyD, LMT, CMT is an Integrative Therapist of BodyMindSpirit who has dedicated over four decades to working with the body mind and spirit as an instrument of healing and personal growth. She earned her doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) in San Francisco. Following her ten years of experience treating patients in community mental health settings and at a non-profit community-based Federally Qualified Health Center in the San Francisco Bay Area, Susan developed her approach to Soul-Centered Life Coaching. Through this coaching, she provides support for individuals navigating stress, grief and loss, chronic pain management, and transitional states, including adjusting to one’s body following surgery. Susan is also passionate about community building and conflict resolution.
In addition to her coaching practice, Susan is a licensed massage therapist in both California (Certified Massage Therapist 32132) and New York (Licensed Massage Therapist 003835). She has worked in the San Francisco Bay Area with clients from Dance Medicine and Sports Medicine at St. Francis Hospital, the San Francisco Ballet, and the world-renowned musical revue "Beach Blanket Babylon." Her work extends to clients focused on enhancing their overall health and well-being, as well as those entering their end-of-life transition, where she offers comfort to both patients and families during this challenging time.
She is also the author of The Lived Experience of Masterful Drummers Who Facilitate Synchronized Drumming Gatherings: A Transcendental Phenomenological Study (2015). In facilitating Mindful Drumming, Susan provides synchronized drumming and rhythm as a nonverbal means to develop embodied listening and empathy, nurture empathic presence, and create a safe and often joyful environment for transformation and community healing.
